We train trusted near-peer health educators.

Health Force Academy helps young people become trusted health educators in their own communities.

Through paid pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship pathways, students gain real skills, real experience, and real opportunities to support the families around them.

Training is built on the evidence-based ALLY model, which has:

  • reached more than 3,000 community members

  • demonstrated improvements in

    • resilience

    • self-efficacy

    • and mental health outcomes across multiple peer-reviewed studies

  • demonstrated improvements in

    • resilience

    • self-efficacy

EQUIP

The Well helps educators reach more families with health education people can actually understand and use.

One educator can only reach so many families.

The Well helps them reach more.

It is a library of culturally relevant health education created with the communities it serves.

Young people create content about:

  • mental health

  • navigating healthcare and finding trusted support

  • understanding health information and knowing when to seek help

  • grief and anxiety

  • identity and belonging

  • absent parents and family separation

  • immigration and border communities

  • the challenges they wish someone had helped them navigate earlier

SOME:

  • create the resources they wish they had when they were younger

  • help younger students navigate challenges they know firsthand

  • are motivated by curiosity, creativity, and the desire to make health information easier to understand

Because the content is shaped with the communities it serves, people see themselves in it.
